Majetkové poměry královny Elišky Rejčky

The Property Relations of the Queen Elisabeth Rejcka

Jana Vítová

Historica Olomucensia vol. 41 (2012), 35-54

The aim of this thesis is to describe the property relations of the Queen Elisabeth Rejcka in a comprehensive way. The scope of the work is an overview of the Queen's real property. The sponsorial rights, which Elisabeth Rejcka obtained during her life, had to be left out because of the limited scope of the work. This work, which is based on preserved documentary materials, is the first comprehensive processing of this topic.Three turning points occurred in the property enjoyment of the Queen Rejcka: possession's obtaining as a jointure, its exchange with the King for his property located in Moravia and finally the foundation of the monastery Aula...

Symbolický rozměr oděvu. Česká vrcholně gotická móda ve světle Bible Václava IV.

The Symbolic Dimension of Clothing. Bohemian High Gothic Fashion in the Light of the Bible of Wenceslas IV

Ivana Kočová

Historica Olomucensia vol. 41 (2012), 55-86

The main source of my work and research was a huge number of illuminations in the Bible of Wencelas IV, which is kept in the Austrian national library in Vienna. This source shows many different people in various situations and is great for gathering information about clothing. Several manuscripts, originated in the 14th and the beginning of 15th century which are available on the website www.manuscriptorium.com., served as the comparative material. The aim of my research was to find out how the garment in the Bible of Wenceslas IV is displayed and how it reflects the social role of the holder of the garment. Illuminations are hugely influenced by...

Homo bellicus. Protection of the Warrior in the Illuminated Manuscripts of the Era of Wenceslas IV

Antonín Kadlec

Historica Olomucensia vol. 41 (2012), 87-117

This work concentrates on a manuscript painted originally at the court of Wenceslas IV and another valuable illuminated manuscripts of clerical and court provenience.Reasons for the work's aim at the chosen period of time and a type of a source are specified in the work's preamble. I deal with the matters of studying of the illuminated manuscripts and I formulate the basic hypothesis of my work. The hypothesis is an assumption of a slight lag in development of the military culture of gentility in comparison with western Europe, which I verify further in my work.My work is divided into chapters which are focused on constructionally differentiated...

Cesta Husova ochránce do služeb Zikmunda Lucemburského. Poznámky ke dvorské kariéře Jindřicha Lefla z Lažan

The Journey of Hus' Protector into the Service of Sigismund of Luxembourg. A Few Remarks on the Court Career of Henry Lefl of Lazany

Viktor Pohanka

Historica Olomucensia vol. 41 (2012), 119-141

This work deals with the turnover of Henry Lefl of Lazany. Henry Lefl of Lazany, who was originally in the service of king Wenceslas IV, changed his mind and appeared in the service of the Czech king's stepbrother Sigismund of Luxembourg. This particular political career of Lefl can illustrate how a group of Sigismund's followers could gradually emerge among the closest fellowmen of Wenceslas IV in the very last years of his reign. Even though we cannot provide authoritative sources supporting our conjectures to a greater extent, it seems that Lefl remained faithful to Wenceslas until the end of the council of Constance when the vibrant Sigismund of...

Annales Patrum Capucinorum provinciae Boemiae: Písemné prameny k dějinám kapucínského řádu v českých zemích v 17. století a možnosti jejich využití

Annales Patrum Capucinorum provinciae Boemiae: Schriftliche Quellen zur Geschichte des Kapuzinerordens in den böhmischen Ländern im 17. Jahrhundert und Möglichkeiten ihres Studium

Marek Brčák

Historica Olomucensia vol. 41 (2012), 143-169

Prague Agent of Count Ferdinand Jan Verdugo in the Second Half of the 17th Century

Michaela Buriánková

Historica Olomucensia vol. 41 (2012), 171-192

This work analyses the correspondence between count Ferdinand Jan Verdugo and his Prague agent Augustin Pichler between 1668 and 1672. The work, based on this correspondence, tries to define the term of aristocratic agent which started to appear in connection with aristocratic officials in period after the Battle of White Mountain and whose importance has not been examined by the Czech historians yet.The comparison with earlier economy officials of aristocrats in period before the Battle of White Mountain is used to define the term "agent". Officials' obligations were similar to agent's, especially in administration, economy and in the role of...

Life Outside a Ghetto: The Birth of the Jewish Religious Community in the Region of Frýdek and Místek

Daniel Baránek

Historica Olomucensia vol. 41 (2012), 193-216

Recent research on the life of the Jews in Moravia and Silesia who lived before 1848 outside the Jewish communities is focused primarily on answering the question what the consequences of tightening and lightening of the restrictions against the Jews were as for the multitude, territorial enlargement and form of the legal status of the Jewish population. However, this article pays attention also to other aspects of life of the Jews who were living outside the ghetto, especially to the communal religious life of the Jews in the Frýdek and Místek region. In realization of the communal religious life the desire of religious people to share their faith...

An diesem Realgymnasium...

The aim of this study is to examine the history and organization of the Czechoslovak state secondary school in Great Britain that was in service from 1940 to 1945 as a part of the Czechoslovak exile education system. The study is based on extant resources and testimonies of ex-students. The work examines the beginning of the Czechoslovak system of exile education in Great Britain, the historical background of the...

"Small Retribution" 1945-1948. Penalty Finding Committee in Benešov

Pavel Kmoch

Historica Olomucensia vol. 41 (2012), 259-283

This work, which deals with a retributive process in Czechoslovakia, is focused on so called "small retribution", or "National Cleansing". This part of retribution was codified by the Decree of the President of the Czechoslovak Republic, No. 138/1945 about some offences against national honour, and by a number of coherent legal enactments issued mostly by the communist-led Ministry of the Interior. The "small retribution" was executed by Penalty Finding Committees established by People's Committees in all regions of Czech and Moravian lands.Offenders were accused of contacts with Germans both economical and social including love and sexual contacts,...
