AB The Vojvodina Slovaks had a strong connection with Czechoslovakia in the interwar period. The relationship remained close even after the events of autumn 1938 and March 1939, when they became one of the most active expatriate communities resisting the First Slovak Republic and supporting the restoration of Czechoslovakia. Multiple leaders actively collaborated with the resistance movement, namely through promotion and material support. In one particular case, they directly cooperated with high-level resistance leaders. After the disagreements between Edvard Benes and Milan Hodza escalated, the majority of the leaders supported Hodza's resistance faction, although there were also some advocates of Edvard Benes. Over time, the number of supporters of the First Slovak Republic grew among the Vojvodina Slovak intelligentsia, and the trend became more pronounced in the summer of 1940 after the fall of France.
