AB The study deals with the comparative methods of historical work in Primary Chronicle (The Tale of Bygone Years) and Chronica Boemorum written by Cosmas of Prague. It analyses passages where the authors comment upon the nature of historical work, speak about the signification of such texts for its readers, evaluate used sources and the manner of their usage, by which they show elementary differences between the Czech chronicler and old Russian chroniclers in regard to the approach to historical work.
