AB The paper represents the first attempt to outline political activities of Ján Donoval, who has been more known such as a poet Tichomír Milkin up to the present. It is understandable because his literary qualities have been more considerable in a comparison with political ones. He belonged to a small group of Catholic priests, who decided from various reasons, the most often personal ambitions, to participate in the Agrarian Party labelled such as liberal or even non-Catholic. As a prominent linguist, he cooperated on publishing the Catholic Newspapers considered a press party body. At the same time, his name also appeared on a government list of candidates for all vacant Bishop posts in Slovakia. After the failure, he began to get involved in high politics, he became a vice-chairman of a party, which he unsuccessfully stood for the senatorial election in 1920. However, in the course of the election campaign he was physically attacked and although this aggression was connected with immediate fatal consequences according to period press, in reality, the end of his not only political career was caused by health problems.
