Author Guidelines

Deadline for submitting articles, reports and reviews:

The deadline for the Czech issue is by the end of June, for the English issue by the end of December.

Deadline for the current issue:

We are currently accepting submissions in English for issue HO 67/1 (2026). The deadline is 31 December 2025.

Sending submissions:

Please, submit your manuscripts (papers, book reviews, conference reports etc.) via the electronic form on the journal’s website (click on: Submit manuscript). In case of any inconvenience, contact the editors.

Format and scope of a paper:

The scope of a paper is from 10 to 20 standard pages including footnotes, key words, abstract and a short bio (2.5 cm margins, Times New Roman font, 12 point font size and 1.5 line spacing). For quotations, use quotation marks and do not use italics.

Please, use footnotes which appear at the bottom of the page, not endnotes (on the References tab, select ‘Insert Footnote’); put a full stop after each completed footnote. In footnotes, use font size 10. Do not edit the text further.

Write the title of a paper in bold letters and the author’s name in italics:

Title
Name and surname of author

At the end of a paper, insert an abstract (max 200 words), keywords (5–10) and a short bio including your name (with all titles) and current affiliation (max 100 words).

Finally, add references – the list of literature used in a paper or sources according to more recent editions. The list of references is required in order to assign a DOI to the paper.

Format and scope of a review:

For the English issue we prefer reviews critically evaluating the most recent literature published in world languages (monographs, collective volumes or collections).

The scope of a review is max 1000 words.

The title must contain the following information: author, title, city, publisher, year, number of pages, ISBN.

Peer-review process:

Each submitted paper is subsequently sent to two independent reviewers. The peer-review process is anonymous, papers are assessed by two independent scholars, specialists on a topic of a paper. The author is immediately informed about the outcome of the process and asked to revise a manuscript according to the suggestions of the reviewers. If the reviewers do not recommend to accept the paper, it is rejected from further evaluation.
