An integral part of the household of the Olomouc Archbishop Friedrich Cardinal von Fürstenberg was a large staff of servants. This text deals with the composition of the domestic staff and its development during Fürstenberg’s almost forty-year episcopate compared to the situation under his predecessors, Cardinals Rudolph Johann z Rakouska and Sommerau-Beckh. It also summarizes information on salaries, bonuses and benefits, and duties associated with service at the archbishop’s residences. At the same time, the servants are briefly characterized (e. g. in terms of marital status and nationality) and offer possibilities for further research on the topic.
