Franz Spina - z Malé Hané do Prahy

Prof. Dr. Franz Spina (1868-1938) byl významný zástupce německého politického života v Československu, který pozitivně ovlivnil česko-německé vztahy v meziválečném období. Narodil se v Městečku Trnávka, po studiích učil na středních školách a později v Praze na Německé univerzitě. V letech 1920-1938 byl poslancem československého Národního shromáždění a v letech 1926-1938 ministrem československé vlády. Když se jeho strana Svaz zemědělců (Bund der Landwirte) stala součástí Henleinovy SdP, rezignoval na všechny veřejné funkce. Ještě krátce před smrtí se pokoušel obnovit německou demokratickou občanskou stranu.

Franz Spina - from Malá Haná to Prague

Prof. Dr. Franz Spina (1868-1938), the prominent person of German political life in Czechoslovakia, who positively influenced Czech-German relations in the interwar period. He was born in Městečko Trnávka, after studies he taught at secondary schools and later at the German University in Prague. In 1920-1938 he was a deputy of the Czechoslovak National Assembly and in 1926-1938 a Minister of the Czechoslovak government. When his party the Farmers' League (Bund der Landwirte) became a part of Henlein's SdP, he resigned from all his functions. Shortly before his death, he attempted to restore the German Democratic Party.
